Dr. Marianna Sargsyan

Dr. Marianna Sargsyan earned her medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia before moving to the United States to further her medical training. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, followed by a Cardiovascular Fellowship at UCSF Fresno, CA. In 2021, she began an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Illinois Chicago.
Throughout her training, Dr. Sargsyan served in various leadership roles across multiple committees, showcasing her dedication to advancing medical education and patient care. After completing her training, she practiced in private cardiology practice in the Northwest Chicago area. Her passion for medical education, fellowship programs, and research ultimately led her to pursue a career in academia.
Dr. Sargsyan specializes in complex coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support, microvascular dysfunction, women’s heart health, and venous interventions (both deep and superficial). She is a member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC).
Dr. Sargsyan holds five board certifications: Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. She was appointed the Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at University of Illinois Chicago.
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Sargsyan cherishes time with her family, including her two young daughters. She is a classical pianist and has a profound love for music, enjoys attending performances at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
